10 Reasons San Diego is a Great City To Live!
Spring is here and we all can start enjoying the outdoors and our perfect 70 degree and sunny weather! I grew up on the East Coast so I have a great appreciation for our low humidity, lack of mosquitoes and absence of snow! Having gone to college in upstate New York I remember when we had a few warm spring days we would head to the roof tops of our dorms with suntan oil and aluminum foil boards in hand to soak up the first rays of the season. Unfortunately those of us who did this are now seeing our dermatologists on a regular basis. I just purchased a full body sun suit for my grandson (available at Costco) so his skin will be protected while enjoying the pool or beach. We are all trained now to be armed with sunscreen and a wide brimmed hat as we can head to the pool, beach or a hike and enjoy the spring weather and sun.
There are 10 really fun events this month….a little something for everyone, Cinco de Mayo in Old Town is always fun and a great excuse to have some good Mexican food and a Margarita! The Chocolate Festival is hard to resist for chocoholics….wine is normally served also. Carlsbad Spring Street Faire reminds us how great downtown Carlsbad is and with 900 vendors there are lots of shopping opportunities! If you want to start your fitness program build up to the half marathon for SD Zoo + Safari Park…reminder also to purchase your yearly pass to the park as their nightly programs are fabulous! For the cowboys and cowgirls the Ramona Rodeo is full of events including barrel racing. The Escondido Street Faire attracts 500 vendors and is a family friendly event. Plan your monthly activities now!

Send a quick request [email protected] With the low inventory and builders releasing very limited supply of homes buyers more than even need an agent that can get offers accepted and builders to call them first off cancellations or priority lists!
Here are some great events for the month for you to enjoy:

Holiday events and activities in San Diego December 2012
San Diego has so many things going on in December it is hard to pick which one to attend. A traditional favorite at Balboa Park is Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Also at Balboa Park is the December Nights 2012 on December 7 & 8. If you are missing the snow then head over to LEGOLAND for their Holiday Snow Days. There will be plenty of snow for building snowmen and making a few old fashion snow balls.
For the sports enthusiasts don’t miss the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl and the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl at Qualcomm Stadium.
With so many activities going on all over San Diego I love the central location of Santaluz. If you would like more information about homes in Santaluz or a homes tour let me know – [email protected]
There are so many reason to become a resident of Santaluz and the holidays are a reminder of all the fun we have!
You won’t need to bring your mittens but bring your creativity. The Children’s Winter Holiday Celebration will be held at the Santaluz Gymnasium on December 1st between 10:00 – 11:30am and 1:00 – 2:30pm. They will be offering cookie decorating and crafts. There will be a Santa visiting and there is an opportunity to get a photo with Santa (Please check your official invitation from the Santaluz Community Council – it will have the details and how to reserve your time slot for the Santa photos.)
If you would like more information on this fabulous planned community please let me know!
What a great way to wake up and enjoy the beautiful Santaluz dog park, a great cup of brew and bagels! On November 10th the Santaluz Community Council is sponsoring a Bark, Bagels and Brew from 9:00am – 11:00am.
If you haven’t visited the Santaluz dog park yet this is a great opportunity to see this beautiful facility with an area for both large and small dogs. It includes a nice turf area and places to run and play.
This is just another example of all the activities that are available for residents of this fabulous community. Would you like a tour? Let me know! [email protected]
Relocating To San Diego???
The annual Julian Apple Festival is a great family activity. The drive is beautiful and once you get there the town is full of small shops and restaurants. There is always a line for the famous Mom’s apple pie. If you don’t want to drive very far there are plenty of activities and fun things to do right in San Diego. There are so many festivals in October. Don’t miss the Oktoberfest for some good German food and beer. There is also the Family Moon Festival and the Taste of North Park and more. There is even a special expo just for your pets. One of my favorite annual activities is the 2012 Miramar Air Show. If you know of some fun events that I missed please share them in the comments below.
52 Week of Fun in San Diego September 2012
September 16th kicks off the San Diego Restaurant Week. This is a great way to try out a new restaurant at a discount. Over 180 restaurants throughout San Diego are participating this year. If music is your passion then the San Diego Music Thing might be a good match. This 2-day annual music conference offers activities ranging from legal issues, social media to songwriting and demo review sessions.
If you didn’t get a chance to watch the horse races at Del Mar this year you have a little time left. Closing day for this season is September 5, 2012. Or if you want to get out of town and take a drive consider the Julian Apple Harvest. Just 45 minutes up the mountain and you get to enjoy the famous apple pies, fresh apple cider or pick yoru own apples. This is one of my must do’s every fall. If you take any photos send me one and I will post it here.
